The journey.

As many of you may know, it was not long ago that I left the classroom and began to develop my new role at MCRC as Atelierista.

I have been afforded some great opportunities and among them, the chance to work with other areas of our organization, the chance to network with some of the amazing people who work and use the centre, and an opportunity to help initiate a program of art learning for the children and families I have become so fond of.

This summer I have spent time in the Creative Child Program and some time in the Kids Konnection program. Through the summer I have worked with many staff and have come to better appreciate the organization and it's contributing members.

Currently I am looking forward to creating the art space at our Bronte St. location, participate in the creative child, art smart and drop in programs this fall and begin implementing some of the ideas that have been developed.

Recently I invited staff to attend the Earth Art exhibit at the royal botanical gardens as a source of inspiration and to provoke nature inspired creativity.

What a great day it was. I hope that I will have the opportunity to organize more events similar to this one and that participation increases each time.

This photo, taken in the children's garden is a great

example of contrast between texture and colour. The
flat blue sky is justaposed by this dark thorny stems and
spikey burrs.

This photo shows great change
s in light and shadow.

This is a great example of how just a slight
change in colour and line can lead the eye
and communicate focus.
